Rainy days can be quite common here on Vancouver Island, just a part of living in a Rain Forest. The thing that’s not so common is the thunder. A few weeks back was the first time in a couple years (according to the locals) that there was thunder. Today is another day with rain and thunder. The thunder is not as strong as the last one, but it’s there as a low rumble.
The first thunder storm we experienced, we were a little taken aback by it. The first thunder rumbled in, and Megan and I both looked at each other quizzically. “What was that?” “Was that thunder??”
After a full year living on the island, and having lots of rain, but no thunder or lightening, it was a little startling.
On these days, there’s not as much point in going out anywhere, and I do love the sound of the rain on the RV.
So for today; we are enjoying our time inside with some movies and more-so, cartoons for the little ones. It’s a pajama day for sure!
I a little while, we will be playing some games that we picked up for the kids, and spending time together as a family.
Rainy days can be blessings in disguise when it comes to getting caught up in the grind of daily life.
