Workcamping

So, I’m about to begin my quest to workcamp, and I would love to have some input and advice on how to go about it.

I’ve never done it before, and my resume is completely comprised of IT (Information Technology) experience. Of course, I have experience working on a farm, but that was 16 years ago. It’s not exactly something you forget how to do.

After high school, I did work for a variety of industries while trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

I was a cook at a truck stop, a baker at a donut shop, a framer (building condominiums), a structural engineer assistant for the largest mall in the world, a security guard, an industrial powder coater, a horse groom for both Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses, a gas station attendant (during college), an evening stock clerk, a computer tech in a tech chain, a call centre rep for several companies, finally moving into IT security where I have been for the past six or so years.

Now, I’m looking at working for campgrounds, and I have a wealth of experience in several fields that would make me a valuable asset to any campground. Yet, I have no idea how to build my resume and cover letter to state as much and make me appealing.

Any thoughts, tips and tricks?
