Moving even faster…

I received my documentation in regards to the company I work for offering to cover moving expenses the other day. While I was looking at a mid-March move, it seems they want me there for March 1. Okay. So now I have a month to move. Great.

The search for affordable housing in Vancouver is still on, and I think I found a place, but according to their website, the three bedrooms are all filled currently. That doesn’t help me.

Wife my wife staying behind for a bit in order to be able to collect maternity leave after she gives birth, I have some time to figure everything out. Now, I just need to figure out where I’ll be living. I don’t have a lot of cash saved up just yet, and I now need to really push for getting something.

Soo….

I’ve been scouring Kijiji and Craigslist for a campervan or small motorhome. I don’t want a big RV, as I’d like to try and do what I had done previously, and just park where I please without raising eyebrows.

I’ve found a few that look promising, it’s just the cost. Even a $3000 RV is difficult to pay all up front, and I would like to entertain the possibility that a seller would be okay with a couple payments. However, I know that it most likely isn’t going to happen. I don’t think I would want to do that if I were selling, just because of the possible risk with a buyer taking off. I understand that.

So, I’m hoping to locate something, and fast. I’ll need to find one here in Alberta, and use it to drive to Vancouver over flying to BC, and finding one there. Yes, it’ll cost me a bit more with an out of province inspection being required, but hopefully I can swing it.

I also need to make sure that what I get has a bathroom, and is livable. There are a few RV’s out there that are a good price, but the interior requires work to make comfortable. Something I just won’t have the time to do, which means paying more money.

It’ll all come together I’m sure, just need to stay calm, and not panic.
